Custom software development for businesses

Digitup Studio is a technical studio in Madrid, Spain, that designs and builds custom software for businesses: internal business apps, back offices, client portals, CRMs and integrations. We build the part your current tools don't cover, put it into production and, once the project is complete, hand over the code and the access.

In short

  • What we build: the software your tools don't cover, such as business apps, back offices, portals, CRMs, integrations, SaaS and mobile apps.
  • Who builds it: Digitup Studio, founded in Madrid in 2019, led by its two partners, with more than 50 projects developed.
  • Minimum price and timeline: from €1,000, with delivery from 2 weeks; beyond that, it depends on scope.
  • Integration: it connects to Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Holded, your CRM or ERP, Stripe or WhatsApp instead of replacing them.
  • Ownership: the code and access are yours once the project or the payments are complete; with Build & Run, through a purchase option.
  • Production: servers, CI/CD, monitoring and maintenance from day one.
  • Language and location: based in Madrid, working mostly remotely with clients in Spain and abroad, in English, Spanish or Russian.

Definition

What is custom software, and when does it make sense?

Custom software is an application designed around one company's actual process, instead of bending the company to fit a standard product.

It makes sense when the real work doesn't fit the tools you already pay for: the core process lives across email, spreadsheets, WhatsApp and a generic CRM, data gets copied by hand and reports are rebuilt every month. An application that structures that flow with statuses, owners and notifications, and connects what already exists, usually does more for you than yet another subscription.

It also makes sense when the software is the product: a SaaS, a platform or an app for your customers.

It doesn't make sense when a well-configured SaaS already solves the problem. Our rule of thumb: “If your ERP works, it stays. We build the missing part.”

What kind of custom software do we build?

Mostly software to run the business from the inside (orders, case files, dashboards) and software to serve your customers (portals, apps, SaaS).

Business management apps

Orders, jobs, bookings, case files or incidents, with statuses, owners and notifications. If you need a workspace that brings together clients, tasks, documents and AI, see AI transformation.

Back offices and dashboards

Panels where operations, admin or management handle users, services, invoices or service areas.

Client portals

Private areas where your customers submit requests, track a job, check documents or pay without having to call you.

Custom CRM

Only the modules you actually use, organized the way you work. See custom CRM.

Integrations and automations

APIs, CRM, ERP, Stripe, Google Sheets, WhatsApp or Telegram connected so nobody copies data by hand. More on process automation.

Mobile apps

iOS and Android with Ionic and Angular: maps, payments, notifications and real time. Examples: the 23TopTraining training app and the Mallorcab customer and driver apps.

Comparison

Custom software or an off-the-shelf SaaS?

If a SaaS covers your process with reasonable configuration, it is usually cheaper and faster. Custom software pays off when the process is what sets you apart, when several tools have to work together, or when licenses and workarounds grow faster than the problem they solve.

Custom software compared with an off-the-shelf SaaS
CriterionCustom softwareOff-the-shelf SaaS
Fit with your processDesigned around how you work. You adapt to the product.
OwnershipCode and access are yours, depending on the payment model. You pay to use it; the vendor owns it.
Upfront investmentHigher; at Digitup, from €1,000.Low: sign-up and setup.

Vendor lock-inLow, with code, documentation and access.Higher: you depend on their pricing and roadmap.
RoadmapYou decide what gets built and when. The vendor decides.

SaaS wins when the process is standard, like accounting or payroll, when you need it this week, or when nobody will look after software of your own. Often the answer is a mix: keep the SaaS and build only what's missing, connected through its API.

Integrations

How does it work with the software you already use?

It connects to it: the new software reads from and writes to your existing tools, so nobody has to copy data by hand.

The usual connections: Gmail and Google Workspace (Drive, Sheets), Microsoft 365 and Outlook, Holded, ClickUp, your CRM or ERP, Stripe, PayPal, WhatsApp Business API and Telegram. If a tool has no API, we explain the alternatives and their limits before we start.

Connecting doesn't mean opening everything up: role-based access control, separation of data, action logs, credential protection, backups and human approval wherever it's needed. If you switch CRM later, only that integration is rebuilt, not the whole system.

Technology

What technology do we build it with?

A well-known, maintainable stack, chosen for what the project needs and for whoever will maintain it. We call it technology without a religion.

Digitup Studio's usual stack by layer

FrontendAngular, Ionic, TypeScript, Sass
BackendNode.js, NestJS, Python, FastAPI, Firebase

We explain the approach behind these choices on our about page.

How do we work?

In five phases, from understanding the problem to keeping the software running in production, with a working first version before anything else gets built.

01

We understand the business problem

We analyze your processes, your users and the tools you already use.

02

We define the technical solution

We propose architecture, features, integrations, phases and priorities.

03

We ship a working first version

A first version focused on validating real value as early as possible.

04

We integrate, automate and scale

We connect APIs, AI, databases, payments and internal systems.

05

We launch and maintain it in production

Deployment, CI/CD, servers, monitoring, maintenance and evolution.

Team

Who runs your project?

The two partners, from the first call to production: Stas Nikitin (CEO, product and project management) and Anton Zverev (CTO, architecture, development and infrastructure).

We are a small, senior core team: when a project needs more capacity, we bring in specialists from our network in UX/UI, backend, DevOps, QA, data or AI. Digitup started out building software in 2019, and the team has more than 10 years of experience in digital product. The person responsible for your project is also the one making the decisions, and the work isn't passed to a junior team after the first meeting. More on who we are.

Price and timeline

How much does custom software cost, and how long does it take?

At Digitup, projects start from €1,000 and the shortest delivery is from 2 weeks. Above that there is no price list: cost and timeline depend on the scope.

What moves the budget most:

A working first version can usually be validated within weeks if the scope is clear; complex integrations may need more phases. There are three ways to pay:

Digitup Studio engagement models
ModelHow you payWhen it becomes yours
Fixed-scope projectUpfront payment plus milestones. Lowest total cost. When the project is complete.
Flexible paymentUpfront investment, with the rest spread over 6 or 12 months. When the payments are complete.
Build & RunInitial fee plus a monthly fee covering hosting, support and evolution; minimum commitment, usually 12 or 24 months. When you exercise the purchase option, defined from the start.

Flexible payment is a payment term, not a delivery timeline. Full details on ways of working.

Ownership

Who owns the code?

You do, once the project or the payments are complete: you receive the code, the access and the agreed documentation. With Build & Run, Digitup runs the platform for as long as the service lasts, and you can buy it through the purchase option agreed at the start.

That means your own team or another vendor can take over, which a SaaS doesn't allow. One piece of advice, whoever you work with: from day one, register the domain, the payment gateway and the cloud and third-party accounts in your company's name.

Maintenance

What happens after launch?

If you want, we keep running it for you: deployments, monitoring, maintenance and evolution.

With Build & Run, the monthly fee includes hosting, security, support and an evolution allowance, and third-party usage (AI, WhatsApp, SMS) has limits agreed in advance, so there are no surprise costs. If you bought the project outright, you can hire maintenance from us or handle it with your own team. Mallorcab, for example, is still in production with ongoing maintenance.

Case studies

What custom software have we built?

Four published projects of internal or custom business software.

Tasaciones.com. A product built from scratch: client app, assignment of each job to an appraiser by area and property type, a job state machine (requested, assigned, visit scheduled, under appraisal, report delivered) and a back office.

Deliciosos Ramos. An internal order system with job assignment, notifications, back office, automations and generative AI images for events.

Mundomar Cruceros. An internal landing page builder based on portlets, with AI translation and RAG over the cruise catalog powering a recommendation chat.

Mallorcab. Customer and driver apps, plus the operations back office, for a taxi platform in Mallorca. The platform has more than 300 connected taxi drivers, more than 300,000 registered customers and more than 3 million services created.

Client reviews are on our Sortlist profile, rated 4.95 out of 5 as of October 2026.

Fit

When are we a good fit, and when are we not?

We'll tell you how we would approach it and, just as clearly, whether we think it's worth doing at all.

A good fit

  • Your process lives in email, spreadsheets or tools that don't talk to each other.
  • You want to keep what works and build only what's missing.
  • You want one team to design, build and maintain it.
  • You want a first version within weeks and to evolve it with real use.
  • You want to deal directly with the people who decide: the two partners.

Not a fit

  • An off-the-shelf SaaS is enough and nobody needs to write software.
  • You want to hire individual developers to work inside your team, without a product brief.
  • The brief is only a campaign, content SEO, branding or a WordPress theme.
  • Your budget is under €1,000 or you need delivery in less than 2 weeks.
  • You need legal advice.

Frequently asked questions about custom software

How much does custom software cost?

At Digitup Studio, from €1,000. Above that there is no price list: the price depends on what the software has to do, how many user roles it has, which systems it connects to and how much data it handles. A tightly scoped project stays close to the minimum; several integrations or complex workflows push it up. After reviewing your case, we propose phases and a budget.

How long does it take to develop custom software?

At Digitup Studio, the shortest delivery is from 2 weeks, for a small, well-defined scope. A working first version can usually be validated within weeks if the scope is clear; complex integrations may need more phases. There is no standard number of weeks: we set the timeline after reviewing your case and proposing the phases, starting with whatever delivers the most value soonest.

Will we own the source code?

Yes, depending on the payment model. With a fixed-scope project, the code and access are handed over when the project is complete, together with the agreed documentation; with flexible payment, when the payments are complete. With Build & Run, Digitup Studio runs the platform during the service, with a purchase option defined from the start. That way, another team can pick up development.

Can you work on software we already have?

Yes. Digitup Studio takes on existing projects to tidy up the architecture, improve performance, add AI, automate processes or scale features. First we review the code, the infrastructure and how the software is used today; then we tell you what to keep, what to rebuild and in what order, or whether it isn't worth doing. What works stays: we build the part that's missing.

Do you provide maintenance after launch?

Yes, if you want it. Digitup Studio handles deployment, servers, monitoring, maintenance and ongoing evolution in production. With Build & Run it is included in the monthly fee, along with hosting, security, support and an evolution allowance. If you buy the project, you can hire maintenance from us or take it in-house, because you receive the code and the access.

Do you work with clients outside Madrid and Spain?

Yes. Digitup Studio is based in Madrid, at Calle Alcalá 211, and works mainly remotely with companies across Spain and on international projects; in-person meetings happen when the project calls for them. We can work in English, Spanish or Russian, depending on the project and the team. To get started, a 30-minute call with Anton Zverev, our CTO, is enough, with no commitment.

What do I need to start a project?

Just tell us the problem or the idea, who will use it and which tools your team uses today; you don't need a technical specification. At Digitup Studio we review the case, propose an approach and phases, and if it's a fit we start with a first version. The first call, 30 minutes with Anton Zverev, CTO, comes with no commitment; if it isn't worth doing, we'll tell you.

Can you integrate artificial intelligence into the software?

Yes, when it adds value to the process. Digitup Studio integrates OpenAI, Gemini, Anthropic, DeepSeek or Perplexity depending on quality, cost, speed, privacy and the type of task, to classify requests, summarize documents or search your own information with RAG. AI finds, organizes and prepares; a person reviews, decides and approves. We don't start with AI, but with how your company works and which task is worth improving.

Why hire a studio instead of a freelancer?

A freelancer may be enough for a well-defined task. A studio covers design, development, infrastructure and maintenance with continuity. At Digitup Studio the two partners run the project from start to finish, without handing it to a junior team, and bring in specialists from their network in UX/UI, QA, DevOps or AI when needed. If you're looking to hire individual developers, we're not the right option.

Do you also build mobile apps?

Yes. Digitup Studio builds iOS and Android apps with Ionic and Angular, with maps, payments, authentication, notifications and real time, plus the back office to manage them. Two published examples: Mallorcab, with customer and driver apps, and 23TopTraining, a training app published on the App Store and Google Play. If the app is part of a larger system, it is designed together with its backend.

How do you pay for a custom software project?

At Digitup Studio, in three ways. Fixed-scope project: upfront payment plus milestones, with the lowest total cost. Flexible payment: an upfront investment and the rest over 6 or 12 months; it is a payment term, not a delivery timeline. Build & Run: an initial fee and a monthly fee covering hosting, support and evolution, with a purchase option. We don't offer every model for every project.
